The founding of indium- how it all began
so, who found it?In the year 1863, 2 chemists in Germany, named Ferdinand Reich and Hieronymus Theodor Richter, were looking for the element Thallium in Zinc ores. But, they found the element Indium instead! The 2 chemists knew what they mined wasn't the element Thallium because their new element had a bright indigo line in the element's spectrum. This brilliant color was why the element was named Indium.
